The Benefits of LED Lighting

Lighting has come a long way in the past 20 years, and now that we have arrived at LED's, they're here to stay.

It’s difficult to overstate just how much of a leap forward LED technology is compared to what it’s replacing. Maybe the only fair historical comparison is the difference between the horse and buggy and the automobile. The horse and buggy being incandescents and the automobile being LEDs.

LED Benefits

LED is a highly energy efficient lighting technology. The use at least 75% less energy, and last 25 times longer, than incandescent lighting.

Not only do LED's consume less electricity, they also have the following advantages:

  • Safer: LEDs are much cooler than incandescent lights, reducing the risk of combustion or burnt fingers.

  • Durable: LEDs are made with epoxy lenses, not glass, and are much more resistant to breakage.

  • Longer lasting: The LED light bulb 25 times longer than incadescents.

  • Heat: LEDs emit very little heat. In comparison, incandescent bulbs release 90% of their energy as heat and CFLs release about 80% of their energy as heat.

Add in the fact that LED’s have dimming capabilities and it’s a no-brainer that they are the obvious choice for your next project.
